 It was July 4th, American Independence Day, 2015 when the scientists at the Large Hadron Collider in Switzerland and about 5 other countries, announced that they had proven the existence of a long predicted sub-atomic particle, the one that had been the missing central key element necessary for the entire modern model of atomic physics to work - had been provn.  They called it the Higg's boson, in honor of the scientist who had predicted it some 50 years earlier. My family and I had arranged a vacation in Hawaii for this particular time and this day, the 4th of July, was the day that we arrived at the airport in Honolulu.  The story about the Higg's boson's discovery, or what most people prefer to call the 'God Particle' was playing on the television sets all around the airport.
